Amberley Wildbrooks and Pulborough Brooks

57 species recorded on an early morning visit to Amberley including Nightingale, Lesser Whitethroat, at least 10 Sedge Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers, a Cuckoo, A Redshank heard near Timberley Bridge, 3 Shelduck in the Quell Farm field, 5 Swifts, 4 Swallows, 2 House Martins near the village, and copulating Buzzards. Interestingly, there was a report of three Nightingales this week, but I've certainly only heard one. It was unclear whether the additional birds were singing males.

In the evening after being vaccinated I made a brief visit to Pulborough where a group of 8 Dunlin feeding on the mud along with a couple of Little Ringed Plover and Avocet. I bumped into Matt and Kate and as we were a chatting a deer came darting through the woods by the hanger with two dogs in close pursuit. It was a quite a disturbing sight and I decided to call in a day after that.
