Rowner Mill Pond, Billinghurst

I needed to go to the tip in Billingshurst so made a short detour to Rowner Mill Pond. I last visited here in May 2019 when I was surprised to hear a Nightjar calling. It was also good for Garden Warbler along the canal and a Lapwing was noted. There wasn't the same excitement today, however, although it is still early. Having said that as soon as I stepped out of the car I'm pretty certain a Marsh Tit was calling in the oak canopy above my head, but it moved off quickly and I couldn't relocate it. Other sightings from the short trip were 4 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, singing Yellowhammer, a Grey Wagtail (by the weir, the same place I saw one the last time I visited), a few Linnets and Goldfinches, and a Red Kite and a Buzzard fighting.
