Knepp and Sullington

I met up with Jon at Knepp for my first trip here for some time. There were lots of very active White Storks, and hearing bill clattering the moment we walked through the gate we realised we'd just walked straight past a nest next to the main farm and shop. Four were then soaring above our heads with another two in the distance and another feeding next to one of the longhorn cattle. Other sightings were 2 Great Crested Grebes on the hammer pond, a Lesser Redpoll and a few Chiffchaffs.

Later in the afternoon I tried a new local route starting at the church in Sullington and taking a loop around Barnsfarm Hill and Sullington Hill. It was very very windy which hampered bird watching somewhat; 4 Yellowhammer, 3 Linnets and 5 Chiffchaffs were noted. Another bird at the bottom of Sullington Hill was very likely a Willow Warbler, but as it remained silent and views were brief I didn't record it.
