Amberley Wildbrooks

The promised rain never really arrived today and over Amberley this afternoon there were 2 new species to add to my year list: 2 House Martins over the swamp and a Cuckoo calling from over Coldwaltham direction. 2 Redshank were on the swamp again, but it looks like yesterday's Peregrine was the last straw for the Teal as only 4 remained today. 2 Peregrines were seen on the NE side of the reserve tucking into a kill which looked to be a Little Egret. 2 Willow Warblers were the other highlight today. No sign of the Wheatears near Quell Farm today. A dead cow in the river was sad to see.
