Amberley Wildbrooks

An early and frosty start at Amberley this morning produced highlights of Merlin, Peregrine, Great White Egret, 3 Little Egrets, c180 Common Gulls, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 2 Herring Gulls that looked to be defending territory on the river bank. Skylark and Reed Bunting song could be heard all over. The Coots appear to have gone along with the water as I saw not one today. Still no Chiffchaffs at Amberley. I bumped into 2 birders looking for the Hen Harrier who were presumably the ones that reported a second Great White Egret later in the morning.
