The Burgh

Jana and I walked from Canada Barns to the dew pond and back this afternoon, and despite only recording 25 species it was quality over quantity. Highlights were a Marsh Harrier, a very distant Short-eared Owl being harrassed by a rook, at least 35 Grey Partridges, and a sizable flock of Linnets.  Ravens were heard often and the farmland feeders were busy with tits and finches. A few Brown Hares were also spotted. There were many birders around The Burgh and the hill above the dew pond was busy with photographers waiting for the Short-eared Owls.
