Amberley Wildbrooks

Feeling a bit under the weather today, I didn't manage a dawn start, but headed over to Amberley around mid afternoon. About 10 Pied Wagtails (and a possible White Wagtail) were under the castle and a few Meadow Pipits were overhead. It felt pretty quiet until I got up to the wet wood where a single Siskin, 2 Skylarks, a few Linnets and a Redpoll were heard overhead. I could hear Redpolls a bit further into the wood and then a flock of about 60 were calling and flying between the birch trees. I'm pretty sure I heard a Green Sandpiper over the brooks. It's looking good for waders at the moment with lots of muddy puddles around, but none were recorded today, not even Snipe. 3 Swallows, a few Stonechats and a Red Kite were some other notable sightings.
