Amberley Wildbrooks and Widney Brooks

An chilly but bright afternoon trip to Amberley Wildbrooks, where the water is rapidly retreating, produced much of the usual including 2 Shelduck, 3 displaying Lapwing, 2 Little Egrets, singing Skylark, a Stonechat and a Red Kite. On the river at swan corner there were 8 Cormorants, and there were many Crows searching in the grass, presumably for eggs. 2 Buzzards were soaring above Amberley village. I had a quick scan of Widney Brooks where a few Redshanks and Lapwings are still amongst the normal wildfowl.
