Kithurst, Lee Farm and Chantry

This afternoon, in clear blue skies, I parked up at Kithurst and walked to Lee Farm and back via Chantry. I recorded 32 species for the trip. There were a lot birds around, particularly Woodpigeon of which there was easily a thousand and possibly more. Common Gulls, Jackdaws and Starling were also present in high numbers, and Red-legged Partridge were skulking in most fields. There was a large flook or Chaffinch in the thin slither of woodland leading down to the farm. Around here I also noted a few Linnet and Yellowhammer, a Goldcrest, 2 Pied Wagtails in a sheep field, and a noisy Raven. Buzzards and Red Kites were everywhere; I recored 6 and 5 respectively but it could have been double that. Around the farm I added Collared Dove, House Sparrow and Long-tailed Tit to the list. On the way back towards Chantry I recorded a flock c20 Meadow Pipit. Best bird of the trip was a Marsh Tit by Kithurst, and I possibly heard another.
