A pleasant loop of Pulborough Brooks with Matt this morning, where the water continues its retreat, produced 24 Tufted Ducks, 2 Little Grebes and a Barnacle Goose.

At Coldwaltham this afternoon, Greatham Bridge is now passable, and in the field to the east were c800 Lapwing. I walked the river bank through Waltham Brooks where there are hundreds of wildfowl on what now looks like a lake, including 100+ Canada Geese, a few Tufted Duck, loads of Teal, a Little Grebe and a Snipe.

I got home in time to see the Starlings by Storrington Leisure Centre. Every evening about 15:30 groups of 20 - 40 start arriving and gather in a tall tree (I think one of the poplars). At about 16:00 they all head off in a southerly direction towards the duck pond. Numbers have increased and I counted c700 this evening from a picture.
