Cissbury Ring and Shoreham Fort

A Christmas Cake fuelled day saw me up Cissbury Ring for a walk with Cree, Katie and Billy. I spent a good 45 minutes before they arrived scouring the area around the old flint mines for the Great Grey Shrike, but to no avail. I bumped into Andy and another birder up there who said they hadn't seen sign of it either, so it appears it may have moved on. Lots of noisy Meadow Pipits around, a few Greenfinch, 2 flyover Skylarks and 2 Kestrels.

After popping into town I went along to Shoreham Fort to find the Purple Sandpipers. This was a much simpler task. The two were there roosting on their old wooden jetty along with 6 Turnstones, and a single Greenfinch was perched on a fence.
