A very windy outing to Black Down produced more people and dogs than birds and none of my target species were seen. Pleasure was still to be had, though, from the wonderful colours of the heather and surrounding woodland. Plenty of
Buzzards were seen as well as 2
Ravens. A probable
Sparrowhawk was mobbing what looked like a very pale buzzard. A few
Stonechat and
Whitethroats were briefly putting their heads up in the wind before very quickly hunkering back down in the heather.
Highlight of the trip was at least 2 Marsh Tits flitting about in the trees near the car park.
